Helpful Security Reminders
- Park your vehicle(s) in your garage if at all possible – lock the vehicle doors and door(s) to the garage for the night
- Any vehicle(s) not in your garage need to be in your driveway with all valuables removed and vehicle doors locked for the night
- All doors and windows to the home need to be locked for the night
- Lighting generally deters crime, so turn on outdoor lighting for the night
- LED, dusk-to-dawn, and/or motion-sensitive house lights (floodlights are not allowed on the front of the home) will help reduce energy costs
- Consider a Faraday Bag for your vehicle remote to stop high-tech thieves from simulating your vehicle remote signal
- Consider a security camera system for your home to detect unusual activity and record video for subsequent identification by the authorities
- Request the Precinct 4 Constables and/or a neighbor to watch your property when you are gone for an extended period of time, such as a vacation

- Report all crimes immediately by phone to the Precinct 4 Constables at 281-376-3472 or 911 if it is an emergency
- Only share your 24/7 primary gate access code with family and close friends
- Only share your vendor access code (6am to 8pm) with vendors who need repeated access (lawn service, etc.)
- Irregular access (A/C service, etc.) or late-night deliveries (pizza) should call you from the gate access system (press 9 to let them in)
